Splitboarding Mount Superior South Face | 50 Classic Ski Descents of North America

Mount Superior is one of the more iconic peaks in the Wasatch and has many amazing ski lines including the South Face. The South Face of Superior is also one of the 50 classic ski descents of North America. This was my third time at the summit of Superior, but it was my first time snowboarding down the South Face (Check out my Heart of Darkness video for another Superior summit).
The snow was pretty icy in the morning when we started skinning up the mountain, but the sun came out and softened it up pretty good. As we started down the route, we had a mixture of heavy crusty snow, with icy avalanche debris mixed throughout. Towards the bottom the snow softened up and was pretty mushy. Overall it was a great day of splitboarding and a fun line, even if we didn't get fresh powder.
