Kaunala Trail | Hikes on Oahu | HAWAII Hiking

Kaunala Trail is a moderate hike on the north shore of Oahu that can be done as either an out and back or a loop hike. I did the loop variation which includes hiking on an old road. I enjoyed both the trail and road sections. There is a gate at the bottom of the road so you don't have to worry about any cars. There are a few places with decent views, but mostly you just get to enjoy hiking through the green Hawaiian vegetation.

Round trip: 5.2 miles
Elevation gain: 1,204 ft (according to alltrails)
