Makaleha Falls Trail | Best Hikes on Kauai

Makaleha Falls is a beautiful tiered waterfall on Kauai. Even though the hike to the waterfall is relatively short, the trail was pretty difficult to follow since it crosses over the stream several times and has lots of down trees that you have to climb over and under. The trail passes through a forest of towering bamboo, which is really neat. The waterfall itself was amazing to see. Normally you can swim at the falls and even cliff jump from the side, but there was a dead rat floating in the pool of water when we got there, so we opted to not get in. Overall I thought this was one of the best waterfall hikes on Kauai that we've done.
