Canyoneering Keyhole Canyon in Zion National Park | Southern Utah

Keyhole Canyon is a short but technical slot canyon in Zion National Park, known for its narrow passages, dark corridors, and cold water pools. We ran the canyon in late November, when water levels were high and ice was starting to form on the shallow pools just outside the entrance. Despite the frigid temps, our neoprene kept us warm enough to fully enjoy the adventure. The canyon’s sculpted sandstone walls and tight, winding slots created an unforgettable experience, even in winter conditions. Keyhole is a classic Zion canyoneering route that packs a lot of beauty and excitement into a short descent.
