Splitboarding Heart of Darkness | Wasatch Backcountry Ski Mountaineering

Heart of Darkness is a steep narrow couloir off of Monte Cristo in the Wasatch Mountains. The ridge line up Mount Superior was steep and really fun. From Superior, we traversed over towards Monte Cristo, where we snowboarded down towards the couloir. The rappel down into the tall narrow couloir was really cool. The snow in the couloir wasn't the best, it was pretty icy and choppy, but it was still a great day. After snowboarding out of the couloir we continued down canyon until we reached the Big Cottonwood Canyon road where we had a shuttle car waiting. This was an amazing adventure!
