Wai'ale Falls | Hilo waterfalls | HAWAII

Wai‘ale Falls is one of the most beautiful waterfalls on the Big Island of Hawaii, located just outside of Hilo along the Wailuku River. The short hike to the falls is quick and easy, making it a great spot for a refreshing swim in a natural pool surrounded by lush jungle. The waterfall cascades into a wide pool that’s perfect for cooling off on a hot Hawaiian day, and it’s a hidden gem compared to some of the more crowded waterfalls in the area.

On my visit, I hiked down to the falls, enjoyed the peaceful jungle setting, and went for a swim beneath the cascades. The water was crisp but refreshing, and being able to relax in such a scenic spot made the adventure unforgettable. Wai‘ale Falls is a must-see if you’re exploring Hilo or looking for an off-the-beaten-path waterfall experience on the Big Island.
